Mobility Gift Cards for Employment
SMCAA currently has an assistance program available for Berrien County residents who need extra support to obtain and/or maintain employment. If an eligible individual needs gas money to pay for an emergency to get to work, then he/she may apply for a gas card.

Eligible individuals must be a Resident of Berrien County, provide proof of need for mobility funding to obtain/maintain employment, and have a household income at or below 200% FPL.

Whirlpool Corporation Appliance Donation
**Periodical**
In 2021, SMCAA provided new kitchen appliances to 10 households in Berrien County through collaboration with Whirlpool Corporation and United Way of Southwest Michigan. In 2022, 6 households received new appliances.

City of Benton Harbor Summer Youth Employment Program
**Seasonal**
The City of Benton Harbor's SYEP introduces low-to-moderate income youth to the pathway to self-sufficiency by offering a sustainable opportunity for job training and employment. Nearly 40 city youth will participate in this program during Summer 2022.
