City of Benton Harbor Emergency Water Distribution

In response to elevated lead levels in the City's water supply, SMCAA distributed drinking water to residents.

As a response to the elevated levels of lead in the municipally supplied drinking water, SMCAA is bringing clean drinking water to the residents of the City of Benton Harbor. In partnership with the Michigan Department of Environment, Great Lakes and Energy (EGLE), the U.S. Environment Protection Agency (EPA), Michigan Department of Health and Human Services (MDHHS), and the Berrien County Health Department, Community Action will supply packs of water bottles to City households.
