SOCIAL MEDIA CODE OF CONDUCT

The purpose of Southwest Michigan Community Action Agency's social media communications is to inform and connect with community partners and potential or current clients. The content serves to supplement the website and to offer perspectives on a range of topics, including SMCAA's programs, relevant news items, and more. Post, comments, and replies on SMCAA channels should be respectful and suitable for all ages. We reserve the right to hide any of the following types of content and to block users who share such content:

-off-topic comments or misinformation

-violent, vulgar, obscene, profane, hateful, sexist, bigoted, or racist comments

-the violation of the privacy of another individual

-solicitations, advertisements, or endorsements 

-comments that suggest or encourage illegal activity

-comments promoting or opposing any person who is campaigning for an election to a political office

-any other comments, posts, or replies that SMCAA may consider out of alignment with our mission and SMCAA's commitment to empowerment and diversity. 

By posting, commenting, or replying on one of our posts on our social media channels, you are agreeing to abide by these guidelines and to comply with the social media guidelines imposed by the particular social media platform you are utilizing. 

Know what to expect

We monitor our media platforms regularly and aim to respond to all inquiries as quickly as possible. Some inquiries may take longer to respond to or to resolve than others, especially if they are sent during off hours. Please be cognizant that we are a small team.
