“The Southwest Michigan Community Action Agency is basically the local food bank for Berrien, Cas County, and some of Van Buren County,” Layendecker said.
Taking place this week is 97-5 Y Country’s Stuff a Truck at Roger’s Foodland in St. Joseph. Y Country’s Paul Layendecker tells us this is the 26th year the crew will be collecting non-perishable food donations to be given to those in need by the Southwest Michigan Community Action Agency.
“The Southwest Michigan Community Action Agency is basically the local food bank for Berrien, Cas County, and some of Van Buren County,” Layendecker said.
Layendecker says they’ll also take personal care items. The Y Country crew will be at Roger’s Foodland Monday through Friday from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. and also on Saturday morning taking donations. You can just go into the store, pick something up, and then hand it off to Y Country. Layendecker says it’s always inspiring to see the generosity of southwest Michigan as people seek to lend a hand to those who need it the most. You can also give online at 975YCountry.com.
